Medsumoto 38:01

about

Upon beginning this collaboration, we both decided to connect the respective sounds of Medellin and Matsumoto in the form of a narrative. We hoped to weave the sounds of our cities together and take a journey. Starting quietly, in nature, the listener would travel to ever more urban areas, more densely populated with people and sounds.

Both cities would relate, overlap and circle each order. Footsteps in Matsumoto would pass their counterparts in Medellin, crossing the stereo field. Japanese passengers embarking on
a train leaving Matsumoto station would blend into the chatter of Colombian voices. Through layering and stereo placement, the two cities could co-exist and complement each other.
